enthusiastic Howur

the Howur seeds were germinated in just a few short days (where I planted them in western Colorado) and they almost erupted out of the soil. They are young yet but I'm already impressed by their energy, and am hopeful of their maturing....

Gila River Indian Community beans "Pima Beige"

I've grown these beans off and on for decades here in South Texas. They seem to do very well in our very alkaline soil and hot climate and even survived our freeze this year when it got down to 19 F, producing maybe 5 pounds of dried beans from maybe 15 plants, total.
An interesting thing is there will be different colored beans in the same pod. I'm no expert, but, I only assume that this is due to a large gene pool. Whatever the case, the colors range from orange yellow to dark purple with most of them a mixture of colors.
