Cowboy and Horse with Saguaro Woven Sculpture

This handwoven basket is by Tohono O'Odham artist Fred Cruz from Sells, Arizona. Della & Fred Cruz are known for their unique, figurative 3-Dimensional baskets.

• This wonderful Cowboy and Horse with Saguaro sculpture measures approximately 8 inches tall (saguaro) with the horse and rider almost 7 inches high, horse and saddle are about 3 inches wide, the length of the horse is approx. 6 inches from nose to tail. The base measures 6 inches around.
• Plant materials are hand gathered from the Sonoran Desert.
• Green coils are native beargrass and the white, split stitches are of sun bleached yucca. The black material used for the facial details and other decorative trim is from Devil's Claw pod. Keep away from sunlight to maintain color variations.
