  • Zea mays.  Originally grown by the Mohave along the lower Colorado River. Kernels are mostly white at the eating stage, but turn blue, white and red striped as they mature. From an extensive collection made in the late 1800's by an early prospector in western Arizona.  The short plants mean it is relatively fast maturing.  From our Seed Bank Collection.
