Oval Split Stitch Basket with Desert Tortoise Motif

This handwoven oval basket is by Tohono O'odham weaver Della Cruz and measures approximately 8.5 inches long, 7 inches wide and 2 inches deep.

• Plant materials are hand gathered from the Sonoran Desert for basket weaving.
• The interior green coils (warp) are native Beargrass and the white stitches (weft) woven around the coils are sun-bleached Soaptree Yucca, and the green stitching is unbleached Soaptree Yucca. The black trim used for the tortoise motif is Devil's Claw pod.
• Keep away from sunlight to maintain color variations.
