PT078

Phaseolus acutifolius. Colorful mixture of medium-sized tan-brown and pink-brown beans. Early-maturing, with both white and lilac flowers. Originally from a traditional Yoeme village on southern Sonora's coastal plain. Very productive in our 2022 growout in Tucson. From our Seed-Bank Collection.

Origin: Low Desert
Habit: some twining but not a vigorous climber
Approx. 7g/50 seeds per packet.

Wonderful plants, horrible gardener

No actual problems with the seeds in my opinion, I just have a brown thumb and a rash of quails in my neighborhood. Most of the seeds got dug up and eaten, and the one that managed to hide long enough to become a sprout got nibbled and eventually withered in the sun despite my best attempts to provide it with the right amount of water. I'll read up on tepary cultivation and try again soon.
