    • Capsicum annuum. From Isleta Pueblo (4,900'), first collected in 1993. An exceptionally tasty native New Mexico chile traditionally strung into ristras, then ground. It has broader shoulders and is less fleshy than Isleta Long. From our Seed-Bank Collection.

Super good peppers

Nice, flavorful peppers with a good medium-heat kick. Very fruitful plant, it took a while to mature but the harvest was worth the wait.

Good plant

I wasn’t able to start any of the seeds indoors, but the few that I planted outside started and grew without trouble. I have all of three plants for the time being but next year I’ll plant all seeds outdoors without starting. I figured since I live right next to Isleta they just like the outside conditions more than anything I can manage indoors. I’m going to try to get more farmers in my area on board with planting this variety.
