Coreopsis tinctoria


An annual that produces 2 inch yellow daisy-like flowers with a dark maroon center in the late summer.  Plant is 1-2 feet tall.  It is not as drought tolerant as other coreopsis species.  Performs best in wet years.  The roots and dried flowers have medicinal properties and petals are used as a natural dye.
