  • Zea mays.  aka Tohono O'odham June Corn.  Traditionally floodwater farmed in midsummer with the desert rains.  The sturdy plants grow to 8', with some red on stalks, silks and tassels.  Dented clear/white kernels with a hint of pink and soft, floury centers.  Ears to about 7".  Good for elotes, or nixtamalize the kernels for tamales or tortillas.  Originally collected in 1981 on the Tohono O'odham reservation.

    • Origin: low desert, about 2600' elevation
    • Approx. 12g/50 seeds per packet.
